Clear Epoxy Resin Binder System, Solvent Free

flooring resin epoxy binder system is a solvent-free, clear, two-component, low viscosity epoxy resin system which is cycloaliphatic amine cured (clear light colour).

Uses

flooring resin is currently used as the preferred binder system in abecote® 400 hi-build; abeflo®; abescreed QC; abescreed SLC P epoxy primer (high mechanical shock areas for SL cementitios screeds).

Please refer to specific Technical data sheet for details.

Other uses include the following:

  • Primer/pore sealer for suitably prepared cementitious substates for subsequent epoxy or PU coating/screed application.
  • Clear sealed finish to diamond ground concrete.
  • Fine sand bulked up for a scraper coat repair work prior to twin pack/two part decorative floor application finishes.
Advantages
  • Proven system
  • Universal formulation
  • Solvent free
  • Reduced moisture and carbon dioxide sensitivity
  • Cures well down to +10 °C
  • Easily applied
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Less sensitive against humidity
  • Low viscosity
Substrate Requirements

The concrete substrate must be sound and of sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm2) with a minimum pull off strength of 1.5 N/mm2.

Must be free from rising damp. Dry to a moisture content below 75% RH as per BS 8203; 1987.

All contamination must be removed to give a clean, dry and open textured surface.

Surface Preparation

Concrete:

Laitance and contamination to be removed by totally enclosed shot blasting, light scarification or diamond grinding. All residues must be removed including vacuum cleaning to provide a dry, dust-free, open textured surface. Porous floors (high air cavities) will need two coats of primer.

Mixing

Kit components are pre-weighed for optimum performance.

Do not mix by hand. Pour activator into base and drain container thoroughly. Ensure that the materials are thoroughly mixed using a slow-speed industrial hand drill, Helical spinner or Jiffy mixer.

Application

Refer to recommended specification.

Precautionary Note:

Prevailing weather conditionsmust be taken into account otherwise surface defects can occur (see under “typical physical properties”).

Coverage

2 m2/L per coat otherwise, refer to recommended specification.
