flexoprime C is a one part solvent borne, aromatic polyisocyanate polyurethane primer for use as supplied. It is specifically formulated to improve the adhesion of flexothane HS to porous surfaces.
Uses
flexoprime C, a primer coat under flexothane HS.
Advantages
- One-component
- Provides protection against moisture, oil and fuel ingress
- Improves adhesion
- Tough and flexible
- Easy to apply
Surface Preparation
The correct preparation of the surfaces is critical. All surfaces should be dry and sound and laitance or surface contamination should be removed by wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. Vacuum or blow with compressed air to ensure the removal of dust.
Typical Physical Properties

Pack size | 250 & 500 ml |
*1 Application at low temperatures will result in extended set times and slow strength gain.
Protection of adjacent surfaces
Masking tape applied to areas adjacent to the joint will protect them from contamination and enable the joints to be finished to a neat line. The masking tape should be applied after the joint has been prepared, prior to any priming or sealing operation and removed after all finishing and tooling operations have been completed, but before the sealant has cured.
Application
Transfer a portion of flexoprime C into a clean container. Tightly seal the original container to prevent the contents from gelling. Brush apply a thin coat of primer and allow the solvent to evaporate, then apply sealant. Two coats may be required if the surface is exceptionally porous. Once the primer loses its tackiness, re-prime.o be removed before placing the product.
Cleaning
Tools should be cleaned immediately after use, and before the material has set, with abe®super brush cleaner followed by washing with soap and water. Once cured the primer may only be removed mechanically.
Packaging
250 & 500 ml pack sizes.
Hardening & Drying Times
abe.®screed SLC P may be walked on after 6 – 8 hours @ 25 °C, and may be sanded at joints if required 24 hours after application. The floor covering can be installed after 24 hours, depending on the type of finish, density and dryness of abe.®screed SLC P screed and ambient conditions.
Before installation of floor coverings, the requirements for critical moisture contents for particular floor coverings have to be observed.
Temperature & Relative Humidity
Internal air and floor temperatures must exceed + 5 °C. The RH of the concrete floor must not exceed 95%, but where moisture sensitive floor coverings are to be laid soon after abe.®screed SLC P application, the RH of the base must be in accordance with the relevant floor overlay manufacturers specification.
Model Specification
abe.®screed SLC P single component, cement based screed for levelling floors. Supplied and laid on a suitable sound laitance free and vacuum cleaned concrete or screed base primed with abe.®screed SLC acrylic primer.
- Minimum thickness: Feather edge by hand or 4 mm by pump
- Maximum thickness: 20 mm
To be mixed and laid in accordance with the instructions of abe.® Construction Chemicals .
Packaging
abe.®screed SLC P is supplied in 25 kg polyethylene lined paper bags (Code: 50111025).
Handling & Storage
This product has a shelf-life of six months if kept in a dry cool place in the original packaging. In more extreme conditions this period might be shortened and the primer may gell.
Health & Safety
flexoprime C contains organic flammable solvents. Do not use in confined spaces. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation and the absence of any ignition source. In case of eye contact wash well with water and obtain medical advice. Wear the appropriate protective clothing. The use of gloves and eye protection is advised. Do not inhale. Read MSDS.
