Solvent Based Clear – liquid membrane-forming curing compound

duracure SBC meet requirements of ASTM C309 specification for liquid membrane-forming compounds for curing concrete.

Uses

Applies easily and quickly by spray, brush or roller for efficient curing of concrete.

Caution

If it is intended to use these materials on architectural concrete or concrete where adhesives will be used to affix tiles, it is
recommended that trials be conducted to ensure that the degree of staining is not excessive or that the curing compound and tile adhesive are compatible.

Advantages
  • Facilitates more complete hydration of cement and thereby increases the strength of concrete
  • Increases wear resistance
  • Curbs dusting
Typical Physical Properties

Surface preparation

Apply immediately after the exposed surface has sufficiently hardened to prevent marring by the application. This is especially important in warm or hot temperatures. In the case of formed surfaces, apply as soon as forms are stripped.

If any part of the surface has dried out, it should be wetted down immediately preceding the application of dura.cure SBC but do not
apply while free water remains on the surface. Surfaces should be saturated but free of surface water, quick drying occurs in areas on concrete exposed to draughts, excessive heat and sun.

Store in a temperate location. Exposition to UV can cause yellow stains to appear on the surface of concrete.

Coverage

Coverage depends upon texture and porosity of the concrete surface. Maximum recommended coverage for effective curing is 9 m² per liter.

Application

Apply uniformly and thinly by spray, brush or roller at a coverage no greater than 9 m² per liter. Do not add thinners. Use a garden-type pressure sprayer or a wide short-nap roller to achieve a thin, uniform application. This is important as uneven application results in a mottled appearance as the floor ages. Initially, application has a temporary mirror-like sheen which visually helps the applier obtain uniform coverage of all areas and eliminates wasteful double application. Drying time is 1,5 hours. The treated surface is non-tracking when dry.

Protection on Completion

Protect surface against traffic and spillage until cured.

Cleaning

For cleaning or removing duracure SBC from rollers or brushes, use abe® super brush cleaner.

Handling & Storage

Store in a controlled temperate location. Exposure to UV can cause yellow stains to appear on the surface of the concrete.
