Waterstops for Joints where High Movement and/or High Hydrostatic Head of Water is Anticipated.

dura.®joint rubber waterstops are produced in straight lengths and factory moulded intersections from natural rubber to give a product that has a very long life span whilst remaining flexible to accommodate high movements.

Uses
  • In joints where the expected movement exceeds 10 mm.
  • As a grout check in concrete, double curvature, arch dams.
  • In areas where the head of water exceeds 10 m.
Advantages
  • Natural product that has a long life span.
  • Rubber product that has a ‘memory’ – will return to its natural profile after long periods of extension or deflection and/or rapid repeated movement.
  • Can withstand a 50 m head of water.
  • Available in a range of profiles.
Profile Range
  • Center bulb profiles for expansion joints.
  • Dumbell profiles for contraction joints with no shear movement.

Application

dura.®joint rubber waterstop with correctly welded intersections are positioned as per the engineer’s drawing and mechanically fixed in place to shutters and reinforcing to prevent movement when casting concrete. The waterstops are encapsulated by the concrete and to ensure effectiveness of the waterstop it is important that the fresh concrete be thoroughly vibrated to release any air.

Vulcanising instructions

See Methodology: Cold Bonding Rubber.
