Thermosplastic, non-woven, waterproofing tape

duraband is a polypropylene, special coated non-woven waterproofing tape which offers excellent extension in cross direction and rigid lengthwise as well as strong, high tenacity with a special flexible zone in the middle.

Uses

For covered outdoor applications:

  • Expansion, construction, and connection joints
  • Work joints in concrete building components
  • Cracks in concrete building components
  • Concrete surface with a water-permeable concrete composition
  • Repair / over-banding of leaking or failed joint sealants
  • Joints with extreme movements
  • Joints and cracks in basements, tunnels, and culverts
  • Joints in water channels
  • Sealing of corner detailing in wet areas
  • Not for constant UV exposure
Advantages
  • Very flexible
  • Offers a wide range of service temperatures
  • High pressure resistance
  • Excellent lateral and longitudinal elongation properties
  • Easy to apply
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Economical roll lengths
Surface Preparation

All surfaces are to be clean, sound, dry and free from any contaminants that may impair the bonding properties of the duraband system. All sharp edges and protrusions to be removed.

Application

duraband must be applied with a suitable adhesive or sealing agent on many different surfaces but only if covered with panels or plaster, in order that it is not constantly exposed to UV rays.
