Horizontal Application
The surface area must be waterproofed according to a.b.e.® specification. This is not a primary waterproofing membrane but is recommended for buried dual layer system applications. The first layer consisting of a 4 mm torch-on will be abedex® unigum followed by an antiriot bituminous membrane such as abedex® AR. Lay the abedrain® G with the dimples upwards. Should it be necessary to overlap then 75 mm would be sufficient (3 dimples). Apply super laykold® waterproofing tape 100 mm wide along the flat part of the product for this purpose. Spread out the soil according to the instructions of a qualified landscaper.
Vertical Application
For the drainage and protection of walls:
The surface area must be waterproofed with heat infused membranes according to a.b.e.® specification. Ensure that the waterproofing membrane is completely covered with abedrain® G for maximum protection. Measure the height of the wall including a flap which must be folded back and wrapped around the drainage pipe. Allow an additional 100 mm above the finished ground level before cutting the sheet. Should it be necessary to overlap then 75 mm would be sufficient (3 dimples).
Apply super laykold® waterproofing tape 100 mm wide along the flat part of the product for this purpose. Install the sheet with the dimples and the geotextile towards the soil. To join the drainage pipe to the inside of the geotextile, detach the geotextile from the abedrain® G up to 1 metre in height. Place the drainage pipe on the abedrain® G after having first placed a layer of drainage material under the pipe. Wrap the detached geotextile under the pipe. Cover the pipe with some drainage material to keep everything in place before backfilling. Finish off the abedrain® G at least 100 mm above the finished ground level and cover with a counter flashing.
Coverage
Install abedrain® G as supplied using an overlap of 75 mm between the sheets resulting in an overall coverage of 45 m2 per roll.
