Acrylic water based primer
abeproof acrylic primer is a water based acrylic primer, sealer and bonding agent for the abeproof liquid acrylic systems.
Uses
abeproof acrylic primer is used as a primer, sealer and bonding agent to prepare surfaces prior to the application of waterproofing
membrane and wall coating systems.
abeproof acrylic primer can be used to:
• Reduce dust and increase abrasion resistance of the substrate
• Act as a bonding agent to old torched membrane and acrylic waterproofing
• Prime and use as a bonding agent on smooth concrete finishes
• Seal pores on rough porous concrete to eliminate air bubbles
• For coating weathered bitumen

Surface Preparation
Ensure that surfaces are dry and clean and free from curing compounds or release agents. No chipping or roughening of surface is required provided the surface condition is stable. Old paintwork which is stable can remain. Any contamination including commercial detergents used for cleaning must be thoroughly rinsed off with plenty of water.
Mixing
Stir well before use.

8 – 10 m2/L (1 coat)
Application
Apply abeproof acrylic primer to the clean substrate using a roller, brush or squeegee. Allow to dry before any subsequent applications are carried out. The primer is dry when all milkiness disappears.
Cleaning of Equipment
Clean all brushes, rollers, trays, buckets and surrounding areas with clean water before the product sets. abe® super brush cleaner may be used after setting.
Protection / Maintenance on Completion
Do not apply abeproof acrylic primer if rain is imminent.

Handling & Storage
abeproof acrylic primer has a shelf life of at least 12 months when in original unopened container and stored in a cool dry place. Avoid freezing of the Primer.
