a.b.e.®, part of the Chryso Southern Africa Group, is introducing blister packaging for epidermix 372’s 90ml version for the retail market.

a.b.e.® epidermix 372 is an extremely popular general purpose epoxy, filler and grout, suitable for both interior and exterior uses. Among its variety of applications are:

  • As a general purpose adhesive for most materials, excluding certain plastics and stainless steel;
  • As a filler, where it may be bodied with fine materials such as wood flour, silica sand and talc, to match the material being filled; and
  • As a grouting medium, for fixing dowels and bolts, horizontally into concrete and rock.

epidermix 372 has further advantages. It is, for example, solvent-free, non-slump, easy to use and has a compressive strength at 25°C of 70 MPa . The product is currently supplied in 90ml, 500ml, 1 litre and 5 litre two-part tins. The 90ml version is particularly useful for the DIY market, and that’s why a.b.e.® decided to produce it in a blister pack,” Elrene Smuts, a.b.e.® Communications Manager, states.

epidermix 372 has been available for many years and is particularly popular among boat building users.

Smuts adds: “The blister pack will help merchandise the product better in-store. When a consumer looks for small packed products in a store, it should be displayed in such a way that it is easy to find – blister packaging helps to attract shopper attention.”

She says packaging and merchandising are key components in the a.b.e.® marketing mix because it has a massive impact in influencing purchasing decisions. Appropriately, merchandising hanging strips will be used to display the epidermix 372 90ml blister packs on the retail shelves.
